14. Top Knot

The top knot is sort of an effortless look, even though you can spend a lot of time getting there. I do not mean the Phoebe Buffay two second black velvet scrunchy look either. Pull your hair into a high ponytail, but when winding the elastic around for the second wrap, don’t completely pull your hair through. You will have a loop of hair; the next time you go to wrap the elastic around you will secure it for the final time. Use bobby pins to fasten stray hairs and arrange the knot as you see fit. It can be as messy or neat as your day calls for.
